Avon Township is responsible for granting five types of permits: (1) driveway access, (2) certificate of compliance, (3) conditional use (CUP), (4) interim use (IUP), and (5) variances. Most other permits, including building permits, are obtained through Stearns County (MN) Environmental Services, 320-656-3613. Access Permit (Driveways & Field approaches)
- Affidavits - Posting, Mailing, Service, Official Interest
- Alcohol,& tobacco are not permitted in the Town Hall.
- Building Permits - contact Stearns County Environmental Services
- Burning Permits - can be obtained through a MN DNR website
- Certificate of Compliance
- Claims Forms - Time Sheet, Reimbursement Form, Maintenance Worker
- Conditional Use Permit (CUP) Application Packet
- Construction Site Permits - obtain from Stearns County Environmental Services
- Demolition - no permit is required to demolish a building; however, you should contact the Solid Waste Disposal manager at Stearns Co regarding disposal, especially to determine if an asbetos removal permit is required.

- Gambling Permits - approved by the Clerk
- Golf Carts - are permitted on towship and city streets, but not County roads.

- Liquor Licenses - require approval by the Supervisors at a meeting. Contact the Clerk to get on the agenda.
- Mailboxes - should have a breakaway post. if the plow directly hits a mailbox on a breakaway post, it will be replaced at Township expense. Otherwise, it is the responsibility of the resident (see snow policy). If a resident purchases a breakaway mailbox post, the Township will install it (see Nov 2023 minutes).
- Noise - the Township follows state guidelines for noise.

- Publishing - the Township is committed to publishing notices of special meetings. The Star-Post is the official Town newspaper.
