Township Election – March 2021

Results & Summary

The annual Township Election was held on March 9, 2021 in the Town Hall (Resolution 12-02-20) located at 16881 Queens Road, Avon (MN). In this election (legal notice), residents voted for one Supervisor for a three-year term, and one Treasurer for a two-year term. Affidavits of Candidacy were filed by Kelly Martini, Marie Koopmeiners, and Rich Sanoski . The pre-test and Public Accuracy tests (legal notice) were performed prior to the election.

  • Results:  : Residents of Avon Township voted to elect Richard Sanoski for Supervisor for a three-year term (2021 – 2024). Kelly Martini was elected to a two-year term as Treasurer (2021 – 2023). There were 111 voters or 7.4% of registered voters who participated in the election. Thanks especially to our election judges – Deb Angulski, Lisa Gilk, Marion Gondringer, Jay Hedlund, Sue Rushmeyer, and Stephen Saupe (Head judge). This election, like the 2020 Primary and General Elections, was run following all COVID-19 precautions including social distancing between voters and election officials, requiring masks, and sanitizing voting stations. The election judges deserve special thanks for their service during a pandemic. Also, thanks to most of our Town residents who wore a mask to protect themselves, the judges, and other voters from COVID-19.
