Avon Township Officials & Staff

The township is governed by a Board comprised of three Supervisors, elected to three year terms.  They are supported by a Clerk and Treasurer elected to two-year terms.  The Supervisors make all  final decisions about township business.   The Planning Commission is comprised on five members and supported by a Deputy Clerk.  Members of the Planning Commission are appointed by the Supervisors to a 5-year term.  The purpose of the Planning Commission is to make recommendations to the Supervisors concerning variances, etc.

Township Board
The Board of Supervisors meets on the first Wednesday of the month at 7:30 P.M. at Avon Township Hall.  The Supervisors are elected for a three-year term; the Treasurer and Clerk are elected to two-year terms.  The Annual Election is held on the second Tuesday of March at Avon Town Hall from 12:00 - 8:00 P.M.  Supervisors elect individuals for the following positions/duties:

          Roads:  John Merdan

Planning Commission
The Planning Commission meets the last Wednesday of the month at 7:30 P.M. at Avon Township Hall.  Individuals wishing to serve on the Planning Commission should complete an application and submit it to the Town Clerk.  At their May meeting, the Board of Supervisors appoints members of the Planning Commission.   The term is three-years and begins at the May meeting.  Members of the Planning Commission elect a chair and vice-chair.  Members of he Planning Commission are:
